Located in the heart of the historic center, this building from the 1970s was initially used as a large appliance store called ‘Holanda Radio Luz.’ Later, it became the headquarters of the well-known newspaper ‘La Opinión de Málaga.’ With the newspaper’s change of location, the client entrusted us with a comprehensive renovation of the building to transform it into 19 tourist apartments and a commercial space.

The unbeatable location of this building (at the intersection of two important streets in the center of Málaga) gives its facade special significance. The goal was to respect the original composition while incorporating a contemporary design language. The opening of its side windows provides different perspectives from the apartments. Alongside the facade, the rear courtyard plays another significant role in this project. Its size and configuration are modified to bring natural light to the interior apartments. Finally, on the rooftop, a large common space for guests is created. The views of the cathedral and the entire historic center from this point are exceptional.
